playdate at Aunty Julie's
One of the reasons I came home to Tasmania was to be with my family, and that includes my beautiful friends who are family in my heart. Several of my oldest friends have been blessed with little ones and now I am blessed to be able to watch them grow up. I don't have my own children but decided to throw a playdate for my friends so they could meet each other, either for the first time or the first time in ten years.
Of course it gave me an excuse to bake :-)

playing with the bread maker!
mum's blackberry jam and tassie apples
cheese and carrot scones - secret vegies
I pulled out lots of toys from grandma's supplies and cleared the room ready for four gorgeous little ones, Olivia 10 months, Marty 13 months, Emelia 20 months and Aidan 3 & half years. It was an afternoon of perfect chaos.
home is truly where the heart is

digging in davies road
it has started, the building of my house, today, as the ground was broken and the excavator dug out my driveway! I have picked three spots on the block to take photos from throughout the stages.
This is what it looked like at 11am this morning

major catch up - waterloo
I am constantly planing on thing to blog but not getting to it these days. After a long day in front of the computer I often don't feel like turing it on when I get home and my internet has been in the 'unknown' zone on and off down here in kingston.
so here is the first of some speed blog catch ups.
I got a week in Battery Point a few weeks ago house and cat sitting which was great especially the walk to work each day without the drive first, and walking to/from the markets on saturday with my sourdough bread!

it's fuzzy, but can you see the house in the picture?
Apparently the owner (friend of a friend) was very happy how I left the house and will use me again!

lower snug update
Last weekend I visited my block of land for the first time since I got back to Tas with my brother, brother inlaw inlaw and niece inlaw..... it was morning and damp so luckily Jem (4 years) had on her lovely gumboots.
The surveyors had been there to do the first mark up of where the house will be on the land, so we went to check it out. Yes things have started! I have council and bank approval and Andrew is making all the arrangements for first stages - excavation, a bit of tree felling (for safety), ordering a water tank (red). I've been looking at sheds (why hire storage when you can build a shed for the same price), and colour bond colours. so much to think about, plan, sort out. Plus I really need to get some more work soon so I have enough money to stay on top of the mortgage as it grows in the coming months.... All will work out i'm sure.

pieces for peoples i love
i've been playing catch up with birthdays from the first half of the year and trying (and failing) to stay on top of all the current ones. but hopefully when the parcels finally arrive they are worth the wait.
I love making things especially for friends, choosing the project, colours, and style just for them and taking the time to make it just perfect, even if that means unpicking or unravelling a little to do it again just right, i never mind.

plus and pretty curly scarf - because she deserves to be spoilt

and a scarf for April the best sister (iL)
my first attempt at a hat for the gorgeous Emila (19months)
Some more hand cuffs for the brilliant Jac
and a special beanie for Jac and Josie's gorgeous Marty Roo (1 year!)
who rarely is still! ;-)
As I'm housesitting a fair bit at the moment the crochet is more portable, and can be done in front of the TV, or movie on the computer, even in bed, making crochet my favourite winter creative indulgence. and there is many more special people to make for!
